Pharmacists Rights of Conscience brief filed in U.S. Ninth Circuit
In a victory for pro-life rights of conscience, the federal district court in the state of Washington granted Plaintiffs’ motion to preliminarily enjoin the enforcement of regulations requiring pharmacists to stock and dispense “Plan B” contraceptives, also known as the “morning after” pill.

On May 1, 2008, BDF filed a U.S. Ninth Circuit amicus brief representing pharmacy owners, former presidents of the Washington State Pharmacy Association, and professors of pharmacy who have an interest in defending the fundamental right of conscience in their profession.

BDF President Nikolas T. Nikas assisted Plaintiffs' Counsel in preparing for oral argument. The case, Stormans, Inc. v. Selecky , is pending decision in the U.S. Ninth Circuit.

Requests for copies of the brief, or more information can be met by contacting BDF Senior Counsel Dorinda Bordlee at dbordlee@bdfund.org.
